Pleasant Union Elementary Giving Tree Project
The Pleasant Union K-Kids Club will be reading the book “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein as a part of their club activities. Our culminating project will be to establish a “Family to Family Giving Tree” program for the holidays. This year, beginning November 1st apple tags will adorn a “Giving Tree” located in the school lobby. Each apple will represent a child from the Pleasant Union Community who is experiencing special needs this holiday season. Each apple has a request for one item: a piece of clothing, a toy request ($20.00 or under), books and/or games, or a grocery store gift card. You may take more than one apple if you’d like.
If you are interested in participating in this project, please go by the office and ask for an apple between November 1st and November 15th. The gifts should be wrapped and returned to school with your apple attached no later than December 6th for a child in Tracks 2-4 and November 15th for a child in Track 1. The apple tags will have what track the child is on so that you will know when the items need to be returned. The gift cards should also have your child’s apple or identifying information on them.
If you wish to participate but are not able to come to the school during these dates, please provide an email address, and I will send a child’s information to you. My email address is [email protected].
Thank-you for your generosity, and we hope your holidays are filled with joy and love.
