Pleasant Union K-Kids
Pleasant Union Elementary has a Kiwanis K-Kids Club, sponsored by the Highwoods Kiwanis Club. Pleasant Union K-Kids is a service learning club emphasizing young leaders helping others. K-Kids members from fourth and fifth grade strive to be responsible, respectful, honest, and at their very best at all times. K-Kids core values consist of caring, inclusiveness, leadership, and character building.
At every meeting, we say the K-Kids Pledge:
As a K-Kid, I promise to serve my neighborhood and my school; I will show respect toward my environment, and I will try to make the world a better place in which to live.
The club addresses three types of service projects: 1) Serve (hands-on helping); 2) Donate (Fundraising and Philanthropy); and 3) Advocate (Building Awareness). Our first fundraising initiative this year will support the Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus.
